RTPGF Chess Championship
The Hindu Society of North Carolina will have 2024 RTPGF Chess Championship on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Round 1 starts 10:00 AM at HSNC learning center, 309 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville NC 27560.
We are happy to announce that The Hindu Society of North Carolina is sponsoring again chess tournament in North Carolina. This tournament is open for anyone. It is USCF (US Chess) rated tournament. For players who do not have US Chess Membership, we can purchase the 1 year membership for you ($12 additional to the entry fee). There will be 5 rounds starting 10:00 AM, time control is Game G25/D5 (game 25 minutes with 5 seconds delay). Sections are K-12 (High School), K-8 (Middle School) and K-5 (Elementary).

Time: 9:30 AM, Registration will be closed
Where: HSNC, 309 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville NC 27560.
Chess Set: Please bring your chess sets and clocks.
Round Schedule:
- Round 1: 10:00 AM
- Round 2: 11:15 AM
- Round 3: 12:30 PM
(lunch break)
- Round 4: 2:30 PM
- Round 5: 3:45 PM
(closing, award ceremony at 5:30 PM)
Entry Fee: $25.00 if you registered by Sept 7, $30 if you register by Sept 13, and $35 onsite.
US Chess Rated: Current US Chess ID is required. $12 additional fee if you do not have or need to renew it.
Sections:
- Open Championship (anyone can play)
- K-12 Championship (for high school students)
- K-8 Championship (for middle students)
- K-5 Championship (for elementary students)
If you want to play up (i.e. grade 5 playing K-12 Championship), please contact us first making sure that your rating skill is enough.
Prizes:
- Open Championship. $250, $150, $100
- K-12 Championship. 1-5 trophies and $200, $150, $100, $75, $50.
- K-8 Championship. 1-5 trophies and $150, $100, $75, $50, $25.
- K-5 Championship. 1-5 trophies and $150, $100, $75, $50, $25.
All prizes are based on 16 players in the section. 60% prizes are guaranteed.
